Welcome to the ETSU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology website. This website provides an opportunity for both patients and health care professionals to learn about our Department. If you are a medical student interested in a career in Obstetrics and Gynecology, I encourage you to apply to ETSU.We have a dynamic faculty, dedicated and personable residents, a community with an excellent lifestyle. Our educational program includes lecture time and a state-of-the-art patient simulation facility. Many of our residents own their own homes, enjoy the theater, symphony orchestra and many natural beauties that the Tri-Cities area of East Tennessee offers.
The mission of East Tennessee State University, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program is to enhance the health and welfare of women especially in the surrounding regions of East Tennessee and Southern Appalachia through: 1) training physicians who apply the art of comprehensive, empathetic, and efficient care for women of all ages; 2) providing comprehensive primary gynecologic and obstetric health care to women from all segments of our communities; and 3) conducting research and scholarship that contribute to the knowledge on which comprehensive primary healthcare is based.
